If you don’t know who Wayne D’Amicois, you’re about to see a whole lot of him in the next two years – especially if you’re a commercial real estate broker.

D’Amico, who returned to RE/MAX after being an independent commercial broker for over 15 years, is President-Elect of the CCIM Institute. He’s the fourth RE/MAX Commercial broker to assume the prestigious leadership role, preceded by Richard Juge of RE/MAX Commercial Brokers in Metairie, La. (2009), the late Tim Hatlestad of RE/MAX Commercial Investment in Scottsdale, Ariz. (2007), and Bob Behrens of RE/MAX Commercial Services in Denver (2004).

Early in his career, D’Amico worked with RE/MAX when the brand’s commercial division was in its infancy. He most recently was president and principal of Property Politics, a real estate development and advisory firm. Last fall, he began mulling over his options to align with a major real estate brand to extend his reach even further.

He gave RE/MAX another look, and he liked what he saw in Broker/Owner Jeff Wright and RE/MAX Right Choice in Trumbull, Conn. He rejoined the network in January.

“RE/MAX Commercial has become a strong player among national real estate franchises in the commercial realm,” says D’Amico, Senior Managing Director of RE/MAX Right Choice Commercial & Investment. “I had a lot of conversations with the network’s top commercial producers from around the country and the regional leadership, and I quickly realized that RE/MAX is dedicated to growing its Commercial Division. I knew I wanted to be a part of that.”

With 25 years of experience and over $300 million in commercial projects to his credit, D’Amico brings substantial expertise to the table that will help recruit top talent to RE/MAX Right Choice’s commercial organization. He’s also eager to help RE/MAX Commercial achieve its goal of earning a spot in the Top 10 in the National Real Estate Investor magazine’s national list of the Top 25 Commercial Brokerage Networks.

“It’s sometimes hard to find people who think like you and share your drive; that’s why I’ve been an independent broker for so long,” D’Amico says. “But joining Jeff’s office allows me to take what I’ve done and connect it to the right international opportunity – the RE/MAX brand – and to a group of reputable top producers.”

As a self-professed “deal junkie” who can’t resist the challenges of complex commercial transactions, D’Amico says he’s never been a “traditional brokerage guy.” He likes to mix things up by doing valuations, tax appeals and consulting projects.

“I admit, I’m a bit of an analytical geek; most people run in the opposite direction from the complicated stuff,” D’Amico says. “But I believe that a diversified practice with the right brokerage formula offers the greatest financial reward in the long run.”
